Hi everyone! I registered this website I think a couple of months ago. I don't remember exactly how I ended up here. Lol!

But anyways, my fiance and I are about to file for my K1 Visa this end of the month as we're still waiting for his Certificate of Citizenship. But as we are getting closer to processing, I am getting very nervous about all the possiblities that will occur. But everytime I get so nervous even just byt hinking about it. I make sure to read all your succesful stories and somehow it encourages me in a lot of ways. It makes me optimistic and be patient with all this processing.

One thing that makes me nervous is that I don't know what would be the best thing that I will do in order for me not to be denied in the near future. I'm so anxious with everything. I don't know how to start and how long will we undergo this process. I can't wait to be with him anymore and I want this to be done as soon as possible.

I've known my fiance way back 4 years ago in a common friends party but we never had any pictures back then since we didn't have the oppurtunity to get to know more since he left back to US. He was petitioned by his parents and he left the Philippines when he was 5 years old. He's also my cousin's neighbour in our hometown. After we met at that party, it was love at first sight for him. But I didn't notice that since I was in relationship with another man. Then for how many years he came looking for me but our fate didn't crossed back that soon. Until I went to our hometown's channel chatting (mIrc). He was online there and then we talked. It was an answered prayer for him that we finally met again. So he added me in Friendster and started a new friendship again. We became close and he comforts me when I was broken hearted with my previous boyfriend. He became part of my life and we communicate everyday until now.

So he came to visit me last April and spend the whole 10 days together with friends and families. But we didn't get a lot of pictures with my family at that time. But we do have some in his family. Then he'll be coming again this November to visit me and we'll have a late celebration on our first anniversary and to have more proofs for my K1 visa. He courted me and I accepted his love last October 12 and we're going to have our anniversary soon.. Yepee!

What scares me now is that, he just became regular in his new job and it worries me that maybe we'll have problems regarding financial support. He'll be 1 year this January in his work. But he pays his taxes regularly and has no problem with it. I'm just worried that maybe the embassy might question us about his financial status since he just had his new job not long ago. But he's supporting me financially every week. How do they check on my fiance financial status? and how would they estimate it?

Also he's still living with his mom since he's still waiting for me to come so we could move to a new place together. Would that affect my visa status? Oh! and also I made a scrap book of all our pictures and tickets and remembrance. Can I bring them instead? Will they allowed scrap books instead of an ordinary album. It's my new hobby and I made detail to detail on every pictures, too! Is it a good idea?

I hope this will give you guys a better pictures of our situation. I'm really having quite a lot of emotions on this matter. I know you feel the same way when you're still on my shoe. I will greatly appreciates all your responses, advises and guidance to my upcoming process. I'm very glad I found this website. People here are the best! God Bless To All and best wishes!

Thank you very much! Cheers! (L)

Keep saving evidence as you are doing. Money receipts, emails, chats, snail mails and phone records naman.

Sounds like you have a GOOD start. His visiting you again will help a lot.

Get more pictures of you, him and your families together.

Financially he would have to make more than the Minumum poverty guidelines for previous year to qualify for supporting 2 people. You and him.

If he supports others like kids or parents it goes higher. About 4k more each.

Looks like he will have to make the required minumum in 2007 as your interview won't come up until sometime in 2008.

This year he'd have to make a little over $17,112.5 .

If he lives in Alaska or Hawaii it will be higher

They will go up a bit sometime in the first part of 2008 tho.

Yeah it's all confusing but hang in there as things will come together as you go.

Welcome to VJ and good luck on your journey.

You can start arranging your documents and proof of relationship. You can start by reading Sheriff Uling's Guide on K-1 processing so you will know how the process will go. About your fiance's financial status he must meet the 125% poverty guidelines or if not, he may need a co-sponsor. Here's the link for the 2007 Poverty Guidelines: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1327.html

I don't think living with his Mom will be a problem.

For your documents: You are on the right track. Maybe you will have to separate your folders/items and just make sure your folder will not be too bulky (it may not pass through the window at USEM, limit maybe less than an inch thick per folder (?). You can place side tabs for easy access. This is for the interview at USEM, but for USCIS requirements, you will have to provide some evidences like proof of meeting, so don't send all of those you have right now and reserve some for the interview.
