Apologies if this has already been discussed recently but I was unable to find any posts.

I am the USC.  Our 90 day window to file the I-751 ROC was May 10, 2026.  Filed May 11, 2026 online, paid with Visa, received transaction number after submission.  Noticed the payment hadn't processed.  Just checked about 30 minutes ago and the payment was refunded.  Web searches narrow down the reason to potentially paying wrong amount, missing signatures, outdated form.  I paid the $700 the site indicated so I don't think that submitting the wrong amount is the reason.  I used the form on the USCIS web site for online filing of the I-751 so I don't think that is the issue.   I reviewed the scanned form (filled out in Acrobat, printed, wet signed, scanned) we submitted and the only thing I can see, which I noticed before printing, is that in Part 8 for Acknowlegement of blah, blah, blah for me, Adobe automatically entered my first and middle name initials with my last name and I signed with my first and last name.  Only other thing is that my wife's signature os not her full name.  It just looks like an "A".  No reason given yet for refund, so I'm not panicking, but dealing with immigration has unfortunately instilled in us the "what did we do wrong" emotion when something doesn't go as planned (which was one other time thankfully).

Are you 100% sure you didn't file early?  The main reasons I can think of for a rejection would be:

1.  Filing too early

2.  Missing Signatures

3.  Incorrect fee paid

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I entered the wrong dates in my original post.  My wife's green card expires 8/7/2026.  Online calculator shows that we can file no sooner than May 9, 2026.  We printed and singed the I-751 on May 9, 2026 and filed online on May 10, 2026.

OK.  Please update us when/if you get the rejection letter.

roger that.

Status was updated.  Nothing on Documents tab.  Hoping I don't have to wait for them to send something in the mail.  Monday we are headed to Asia for a month to visit family and I have a business trip in India.  Guess I need to take everything with me to resubmit.

Ouch.......I was hoping for a glitch in the payment system.  I am really interested in learning what the problem is with the rejected I-751.
