I've heard so many varying things, so any clarification would be greatly appreciated. When I got divorced I never got any physical copies of my divorce decree/certificate of divorce. I received digital copies with a digital signature on the certificate of divorce (the certificate that says when my divorce fully takes effect).

Now my question is, do I need to have a physical copy with the raised seal from the courthouse for my k1 interview in Montreal (it isn't for a while, but I wanna get ahead of this)? I've heard some people say if I was only provided the digital copies it'll be fine, but I've also heard that I need to have them notarized in order to proceed. This is causing a lot of stress because it's about as clear as mud. If I have to call the courthouse to get the proper physical copies with the raised seal (which were supposed to be mailed to me but never were) then obviously I'll do so, but any sort of actual answer would be great...I also noticed that on my certificate of divorce that my ex husband's first name is spelled wrong on one part and I'm unsure if that will cause any issues even though it's spelled correctly everywhere else...

You need to order a "Certified Copy" of the final divorce decree. You will scan or photocopy that document as your prior marriage termination supporting document.

I'll look into this thank you! Ontario doesn't make it easy to navigate but I'll be looking for more info, this was a great piece of information to start with

Yes, the complications and delays in Ontario are well known.
