K1: What can we do to show proof of relationship in our next visit together.

Me and my fiance are both rather boring people who don't do much nor do we have a work/life balance that lets us spend a lot of time together in person.

We will be together again for 2 weeks soon and wanted to use this time together to better document our relationship as we don't really have much to so for given how boring and simple we are. As of now we just have call/text logs and a few trips spend together, a handful of photos and nothing more.  

 

Would anyone have some general advice or tips on things we could do to better.

I'm going to assume your 2 weeks together coming up will be in the Philippines for the purposes of what I am going to say here:

• Save every boarding pass, hotel receipt, AirBnb receipt, etc
• Do things with your fiancée's family and take photos of the two of you with them
• Find a few "touristy" activities / locations there in the Philippines wherever you guys are going to be and take pictures of the two of you in front of the signs/landmarks, etc.
• Save those call logs / texts and put together a timeline of the relationship using samples from them
• Each of you write your story (Jaycel and I did this) - The consular officer doing Jaycel's interview at the embassy mentioned a couple of things from our stories during the interview.
• "Front-Load" your I-129F with all of this evidence. USCIS just requires proof that you two met in person within the 2 years prior to your filing the petition, your legal eligibility to marry each other and your letters of intent to marry but if you include all of this evidence in the petition, once approved it all gets sent to the embassy. As you can see from the item above, it's all available to the consular officer

I have past boarding passes, but I only ever staid at her home, we are kinda the penny pincher types so we never stayed at hotels and so on. I'll look into that. 

 

we do have a few photos with her family, is it better for both of us be in the photos ? or it is OK if I'm just in a few of them too? what if we are just in the background

 

hmm touristy stuff. kinda hard it do that in the sticks but I'll see what we can do. 

 

I been saving them and have logs going back 4 years.

 

two dyslexic people writing a story... I hope immigration likes word salads lol, we will see what we can do there.

Generally yes However some with just you and her family will be good too

This is exactly the information I put into my packet, minus the stories, but that's a great idea. Just got approved yesterday. Following the i129f guide was a great starting point to see what USCIS will be looking for and how to portray the provided information.

We sent in Boarding passes, any receipts from hotels restaurants, photos of us together throughout the trip (try not to wear the same clothes all of the time). We sent in a screenshot of 1 WhatsApp message for every month (preferably with us swapping a photo, timestamped). A picture or 2 with some of her family members,  yes, you should both actually be in the photos. Western union receipts as I would send myself money as needed and on occasion send her money for  some expenses because she was not able to work her job during Covid lockdowns. 

 

In all honesty what we sent was fairly minimal compared to what I have seen some on YouTube videos who showed their packets. We had ZERO issues and no RFE's

oof I almost always wear the same clothes and have the typical guy small wardrobe. 😂

Wearing the same clothes, they might think you took the pictures all on the same day, so we made sure at least one of us wasn't wearing the same thing.

I never noticed how much I tend to wear the same clothes when traveling until I started going through a bunch of photos from a number of different trips looking for evidence.  😅
