Silly question...we are preparing our i-751 & looking at the current processing times...it is roughly 26-29 months. What happens to the green card holder during that time? The green card will expire before the end of the current projected processing times...are they still legal to stay in the country? Do they receive some type of temporary card while the i-751 is being processed?

You will get a 48 month extension letter in the mail once they receive your package and successfully process your payment.
