I am in the process of concurrent filing of I130 and I485 for my father. I am 21 year old USC, sponsoring greencard for my father. My father already got 40 social security credits through his legal work in USA. Thanks to this forum, I got lot of inputs on the documention for I864 waiver through 40 social security credits. Here are the documents my father has to support the waiver -

  1. Social security statement

  2. Benefit verification letter

  3. Cover letter

He was on L1B visa for 4 years between 2001-2005 and then on L1A from 2015-2022. He is in USA now through L1A visa since Feb 2025. He do not have all the old visa documents, but he was able to get IRS wage and income transcript from 2015 onwards. Considering this scenario, what should be the additional documents to prove the 40 social security credits? Really appreciate all your inputs.

Thanks. The SSA statement has the payment history and he downloaded that.

I'd also write a cover letter stating reasons why he doesn't need a sponsor, citing relevant quotes from USCIS manual and / or form instructions

Thank you, we will write cover letter with the specifics.
