Hi - I am currently applying for N400 from overseas. I have a few questions regarding filling out the form.

1.) I am filing out under 3 year residency rule, married to a USC. Do I have to answer the residency and employment only for 3 or 5 years?

2.) If you can skip questions, do you just leave it blank, or answer 'No'?

3.) Do you put as a physical address your APO or foreign address?

I am thankful for any input!

Thank you! So for example, in Part 2 Question 3. if I do not want to change my legal name, and mark 'No' (skip to Item Number 4.) can I just go to Question 4. (USCIS Online Account Number) and leave Family Name blank or do you write N/A?

The instruction is pretty clear. If you mark "No" then you don't need to put anything further and you go to question 4.

Yes, I know. But I was told not to leave any part free and should put N/A on it.

Who told you this?

I naturalized earlier this year. No N/A were used. I think majority of VJ filers don't do it. It's something relevant to 2017, but not 2025.
