Sputum test was negative about 2 months ago but as part of their normal process, they sent a lab smear test to sit for 2 months. The results of this test were supposed to have been emailed to her yesterday, on Friday. After she receives the results of the 2 month lab work, she is supposed to then receive her vaccines and continue with remaining medical clearance. The results didn't come yesterday. Is it possible for these results to come over the weekend? We are concerned because her flight leaves Manila to go back home on 9/26. We are worried that the results will for some reason not come in time. She has been checking her spam and junk folders regularly. Does anyone have any experience in this?

I called +63 2 8521 0020 and spoke to some security person who says there is nobody to speak to because they are closed for the weekend.

I wonder if I should go ahead and email inquiry@slec.ph

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I would email that inquiry address immediately and prepare yourself mentally that she is not going to make that 9/26 flight. The embassy still has to process the visa and issue it and then she has to do the CFO appointment.

No, we understand its not time for CFO or getting the actual visa. She still has to return to Manila on 10/7 for another consular appointment to satisfy one of those "yellow papers" they put the missing documents on. The reason she is still in Manila now until 9/26 is because she was told she was to go ahead with the rest of the medical and get her vaccines. She was told that once the lab smear results are confirmed then they will do the vaccines immediately and I believe 1 final chest xray. Have you used that email address before?

Ah ok! When you said her flight to come home I thought you meant to come here to the US. Sorry for the misunderstanding. We have not used the email address before but I know a couple of Filipinas that had to and they actually do respond. I never asked them how quickly but it can't hurt to email now and follow up with a phone call to the number on Monday

Her medical expires on 12/13/2025.

We still have to receive the TB lab culture results, get the vaccines, do 1 final xray, complete the "yellow paper" missing document issue at a consular appointment on 10/7/2025, then do the CFO appointment.

Does it seem possible that we can get all of this done before the medical clearance expires on 12/13/2025 ?

If she is diagnosed as having TB, no. She will need to have treatment first. If it is negative, your date should be fiine.

On the bright side, if the sputum test results had been positive they would have contacted her early.  "Late" results implies it's negative and that everything must be just fine.  Do proactively follow up but most likely its just bureaucracy that will easily be resolved within a day or two.
