Montreal Consulate EB-2 Interview Wait Time - Part 3

Who has done a medical exam with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas in Toronto? How quickly were your results sent to the consulate? It has been 8 days since my medical exam and I still have not received an email from the doctor confirming that my results were sent to the consulate. I think he mentioned that it usually takes about a week for his office. How was it in your case?

We did our interview yesterday, and it was approved. My timeline is in my profile, and I don't have access to the spreadsheet. It was a simple, no-hassle process, so nothing to sweat about. The most important thing is to have all the required documents and copies.

The process and questions are exactly as described in many posts on this forum.

Some call-outs:

  • Nigerian-Canadian dual citizen
  • The document checker asked for the approved i797, but thankfully, we had it
  • We didn't redo expired police certificates for other countries where we lived, but never revisited

Thank you for the reminder about the I-797 form. It was not on the interview document list and I just printed it and added it to my folder thanks to your message.

By the way, does the consulate expect document copies to be black and white or color?

Congratulations! Do you have the EB2 NIW category or just EB2? I am curious what questions they ask people applying under the EB2 NIW category. Do they go deep into the endeavor and ask you about your plans in the US?

EB2-NIW. Very basic questions: only 1 question related to job - "what is your job/research?"

Hello Folks,

We have been approved today for our EB2-NIW visa. Luckily No AP while being Dual citizen of Canada and Pakistan.

I am traveling; so will happily share more details soon!

Cheers!

Do you mean your online status has changed to issued and the visa has been printed today? Or you were just verbally told you’d been approved at interview?

If the former then congrats! If the latter then unfortunately a verbal approval doesn’t mean you won’t be put in AP - but fingers crossed.

How long does it usually take after the interview for the status to change? Is it within a day or always a few days?
