Guys,

I am thinking to do landing by road on uber after getting my immigrant visa through BC  border area., and want to came back to Canada to finish my affairs here in Canada before my final move, please suggest, what is the smooth process?

Just remember, when you endorse the visa in your passport, you officially become a PR of the USA.  You will be responsible for filing US income tax from that day forward and any world income becomes fair game for the IRS.  I recommend consulting with a cross border accountant prior to endorsing your visa to ensure you have your proverbial financial ducks in a row and aren't setting yourself up for heartbreak, especially if you have TFSA, RESP's, real estate, etc.  You will also be responsible for filing Canadian exit taxes.  Additionally, depending on your province, you may encounter some issues with retaining provincial social benefits if you are a US PR.

Your visa is good for 6 months from the issuance date or your medical, whichever came first.  I'd recommend finishing up your affairs in Canada and planning the move rather than endorsing, becoming a PR and then trying to manage on the back end.  Ultimately though, it's your decision.

Hello Guys,

Why our visas has annotation 212(g)(2)(B).

What is that?

One or more of the required vaccines are not appropriate/applicable.  Don't worry about it, it's not anything to stress over.  I had the same.

Thanks for clarification!

Besides the things you have mentioned above regarding short landing, otherwise is that legal and appropriate to do that in US perspective , I saw many people do that.

For those who have already had the interview, could you please advise whether the consular officer prefers color copies of documents or black-and-white ones? I cannot find any clarification on this anywhere. I prepared color copies, but now I am worried that I might also need to prepare black-and-white ones

HI everyone, I got my interview letter on January 2nd for the 13th of February. I just recently did my medicals and I am packing the documents needed for the interview. On the instruction page, I saw that we need to upload a digital copy of our documents to our online application portal but I can't seem to find where to upload it too. I clicked the link "your online application" but it kept leading to the second screenshot. Does anyone know where to upload the documents too, Thank you.

I had the same view as you - and ultimately figured that I couldn't upload anything else. But interested if anyone else figured out how to upload more documents at this stage.

EB applicants can't upload, so you can ignore that instruction and just take them with you.

Is Nigeria your only citizenship or are you a Canadian citizen as well? If the former you might want to postpone your interview unless you're happy to pay for another set of medicals? As there are four of you it'll be pretty pricey if they expire and you have to redo them when the ban is lifted.

We have 2 young kids (4 yrs and 21 months). Does anyone have any information on what's allowed or if there are exceptions to bring diaper bag for kid snacks/diapers/creams/change of clothes etc inside the consulate for the interview? Any good tips we should know about for managing young kids during the process would be helpful!

We did our EB5 interview on Friday (Jan 30) and received our visa packet by Purolator this morning. Thank you everyone for your help and support.

As a fellow EB-5 applicant, would you be able to provide any additional information on the EB-5 aspects of the interview and any tips on how to best prepare? My EB-5 interview is in a few days and I would love to hear more details about how it went. Thanks!
