I missed to mentioned in my Interview experience, during the entire my Interview Visa Officer was very polite and very friendly with their questions.  I realized there are few members in the sheet also showing administrative process, not sure all those completed and approve by now, also please let me know how many of those passports remains with consulate office?  Thanks and appreciate your response.

Just dropping my timeline here as a datapoint

Don’t stress if you miss your interview, they’ll usually give you another date the next month, provided your PD is super current

Also no worries if you haven’t done the medical yet. You can send it in after the interview without any problems.

The officer was super chill. Funny thing,  I went to the same school in Upstate NY as his daughter, so we ended up chatting about that. He even said he was flying there the next day to visit her 😂

EB2-NIW (ROW)

PD: 07/2023

DQ: 03/2024

IL: 08/08/2025

Missed interview (on purpose, couldn’t make that day)

Rescheduled: 09/24/2025

221(g) for missing medical

Medical + passport sent: 10/21/2025

CEAC updated: 3 times

Issued: 10/30/2025

Hang in there everyone, delays happen, but it all works out in the end

Congratulations.  As I mentioned my updates after my Interview on 10/24/2025.  My case still shows as Refused and CEAC updated 3 times in 5 days since my Interview.  Mine is additional info required and no form given, passports are still with them.  Tensed moments, but that's how I have to deal with it.

Thanks but please do fill your VJ timeline in (on your profile), as that will help all EB applicants going forward.

And congrats on your visa.

Congratulations! I’m also going through the EB2-NIW process. Because of the long wait for the PD, some things I described in my case have slightly changed. How deeply did the officer go into the substance of your case? Did they ask any questions related to it?
I know people who had their interviews in Warsaw, Poland, and the officers there were always very meticulous about what was written in the case itself. Some were even sent for reconsideration to USCIS (which in practice means a full denial, since the case won’t be reviewed in a positive way).
How are things with the officers in Montreal? Did they ask if you have a job offer? Even though it’s not required for EB2-NIW, that’s a question they often like to ask in Poland.
If possible, could you please share more details about how your EB2-NIW interview went? There are very few posts about this specific subcategory, and it would really help to understand what to expect

There is a section on the forum for visa interview reviews. I've no idea how many on there may be useful, but do check.

As long as nothing has fundamentally changed (i.e. you're not in a different field to the one you applied under) then you should be fine. Good luck, and please do fill your timeline in to 'pay it forward' and help other EB applicants, thanks.

They asked me about my field of work, where I plan to move in the U.S., and why.

As long as you can answer those questions confidently, you’ll be fine.

I didn’t change my field, but if yours is still related, just explain it broadly,  they mainly want to see consistency.

NIW cases are super common now, so the officers already know it’s a self-petition without a job offer.

So this issue, made me consult an ex consular officer, even if you have changed field it is still fine. The consular officer said so long that you show intent at interview that is what that matters. NIW is a long process, people can lose their jobs before interview, I saw on reddit when someone lost his job just 1 month before interview and he got the green card visa.

Telling people  so long they are in their field they should be fine,

What happens to people who are not in their field of endeavor? It will create unnecessary anxiety to them.

I reviewed most NIW interviews here, there are a lot of people the consular officer didn't ask whether they are in their field of endeavor at interview.

Please If you are no longer in your field of endeavor,  consult an attorney and ask how you can handle it.

Please see my latest answer/comment on this. I think you should consult an attorney.
