Sending NVC "missing" documents

Must the marriage, birth, and military certificates that are sent in to the NVC along with the DS230 be notorized?? I sent certified translations and apparently that's not good enough.

I sent originals of each along with the DS230 and was told that a letter was sent to me to request that I send in "originals" of the certificates.

I will resend them......and get them notorized if need be......however, do I have to wait until I receive their letter to send these documents......or can I just go ahead and mail them to the New Hampshire address?

Did you also send them the police certificate with the translation? According to the Department of State web site, found here http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html , these are the documents that have to be submitted to the NVC along with the DS-230 form, if going through the Cairo embassy:

Document Requirements

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to obtain the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity).

Birth Certificate

Court and Prison Records

Deportation Documentation

Marriage Certificate

Marriage Termination Documentation

Military Records

Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

Police Certificate(s)

All documents that pertain to the applicant’s petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with the applicant’s petition.

Translations

Applicants must obtain English language translations of any documents that are written in another language.

The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

Translation is accurate, and

Translator is competent to translate.

I didn't think the I130 papers would reach the NVC before the K3 visa would be issued.........but with AP taking soooooooo long I figured that we'd follow up with sending in the documents.

When is the madness going to end???????????
