My interview is coming up in about a week and the Interview scheduling document mentions all the (original) documents I am supposed to present at the interview, including "Proof of death or divorce for each prior marriage of yourself or spouse". In my country, they amend the Marriage Certificate with Annotation of Divorce on the same document, and they also sign it and issue it digitally. I have never had a physical original divorce document, this is all I have, and that is what we used during our I-130 process.

The document contains instructions to verify authenticity via a govt website and a Hash Code, as well as a QR code linking to the same govt website for verification etc.

Has anybody presented a foreign digitally signed document at a N400 interview before?

Thank you!

Does it match the description given for divorce certificate in Department of State visa reciprocity?

"Marriage certificates may include annotations regarding previous marriages, divorces, and deaths of former spouses"

So yes to that, but this State Dept website never mentions "Digitally signed and issued" divorce documents, hence the confusion. The only time there is a mention of words such as "electronically" or "digitally", is in the context of divorces outside of Brazil being electronically recognized in Brazil(which is not my case), my divorce annotation was done and signed and issued electronically straight from a Brazil notary.

A notary in Brazil is able to issue a printed copy of the annotated marriage certificate, showing the divorce.  It will be a printed copy that the notary can sign and stamp so it is official.  Check with the notary where the marriage and/or divorce were filed.

You're probably correct and we will do that, but due to the fact that it would be almost impossible to get that issued/urgently mailed to the US in time for the interview, I'm wondering if the same document we currently have would suffice like it did for my I-130 interview (probably a big reason why we've never ever worried about getting a physical copy).

This should have been thought through before applying for N-400.

Now, it's either not going to be a problem, or you'd get RFE.

Keep us posted and good luck at the interview!

Agreed.

Original document is currently in transit on a FedEx Int'l Max III Nuclear Priority so it should be here before next week lol

Thanks again fellas @OldUser and @carmel34
