Hi,

I am having my interview soon and received the USCIS Courtesy Email to upload some evidence in advance.

What Types of Evidence to Provide

For a Form I-130 filing, you may provide additional evidence of the bona fides of your relationship from the inception of the relationship to present.

Examples of documentation may include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting evidence of your relationship, such as documentation regarding joint assets or liabilities you and your spouse may have together. This may include tax returns, bank statements, insurance documents (car, life, health), property documents (car, house, etc.), rental agreements, utility bills, credit cards, contracts, leases, photos, correspondence and/or any other documents you feel may substantiate your relationship.
  • Birth Certificates
  • Marriage Document issued by the appropriate civil authority
  • Divorce decree/death certificate for each prior marriage
  • Certified English translation for each foreign language document

For a Form I-485 filing, you should provide:

  • Copies of any immigration documents
  • Related police reports and the certified final court disposition for each arrest, even if the charges have been dismissed or expunged.

Items that Cannot be Uploaded in Advance

·         Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Records that were not submitted with the original filing cannot be uploaded in advance and should be presented unopened to the officer at the interview.

Please note that we still require you to bring in the original copies (or certified copies) of your documentation in person.

I was wondering should I upload the same documents they asked in email that I have already provided when submitting my application?

In my opinion they already have everything and I'm going to bring originals to the interview. The only new would be additional photos and some bills, health insurance

Would it look better for me if I upload it beforehand (even though they already got almost all of it)?

It's asking for additional evidence, so I'd think you would be uploading anything new since approval, but you should still take copies of everything submitted in total to your interview.

Upload any new evidence since filing the AOS. Take copies of initial evidence and additional evidence since filing with you to your interview.

I uploaded additional evidence 1-2 days before my interview. During the interview the ISO did say that she noticed that I had uploaded it and that they had looked it as well.

There are several field offices now sending these out. I have read many accounts of people’s interview experiences over the last month and as @SL2024 mentioned above, the ISO in most cases mentions that they appreciate them uploading updated evidence as it 1. saves them the time and effort of scanning physical documents at the interview and 2. gives them an opportunity to look at it in the few minutes they have to review the case before they call you in.

** Caveat: you should still bring the “originals” (certified true copies) of any civil documents you submitted with your original filing
