In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Also, our 90-day window to send in our I-751 packet begins on Monday, July 7th.  Would it be recommended to send our packet via FedEx on the 8th to ensure it arrives on a weekday after our window opens?

Thank you!

I would make sure I calculated the 90 days correctly, and I would send it a few days after the window opens.

mine opens on the 23rd july so I’m sending mine in on the 30th. That one week won’t make the slightest difference when they’re taking 2+ yrs to process them anyway and I have total comfort that it’s not going to arrive early and be rejected

Is it necessary for me to wait a week?  I would rather do it the week it opens to ensure I have time to receive the extension letter.  My husband's GC expires 10/5 so according to the USCIS website and others it opens the 7th. So mailing it on the 9th should be ok, correct?

of course! You can post it any time between day 90 and day 1, technically. I was just saying a week is going to make no difference as the extension letter will come in a few weeks. But you do whatever makes you comfortable. For me that’s a week or two after the date opens. We’ll still get the extension letters weeks before the GC expires
