In the midst of filling out the application online.  We've got an online account but can't find the OAN.  He's only done a change of address online through his account but I don't believe he received an email for that, that we can find.

Do we have one and don't know it or do we just say that we don't know it?

Thanks

I guess you mean online account number? It's optional. Why aren't you filing online? When filing online, I don't recall having to provide this number.

I have 2 more questions about the N-400
The SSA question - to notifiy the SSA or not.  The wording on the instructions confused us - its just a notification correct?  We don't want a new number.
The workplace question - they have a limited amount of options for workplace(other than work unknown) and we picked the one that seemed to fit best.  He's a CNA/Med Tech and we put Healthcare Technician... I guess that makes sense judging from what Google says... I think.

You won't get new number. Also, this checkbox doesn't work... So you'd have go to SSA anyways.

My fresh experience is here

So you can just say no.

@olduser:

Always go by an SSA office to update your citizenship after the fact even if the box would work it still won't get processed on the other side. It looks like they are still running AS400 terminals over there.

And, as I found out the other day (almost 5 years after getting my citizenship) check with DMV to see if they need to do some updating as well.

@233465

For the work description you did the correct thing and picked the closest one. It will be corrected / updated if needed during the interview.

The whole point for checkbox on N-400 was to update SSA with citizenship status without visiting SSA. It worked for a limited time, and many citizens used it successfully. There are reports on Visa Journey people receiving new SS cards and having status updated for them automatically. However, earlier this year, Enumeration Beyond Entry (EBE), the technology enabling this, was paused. So now everybody has go go to SSA regardless of what they check on N-400. It doesn't make sense checking "yes" and providing SSN on N-400 form anymore. Details in my thread mentioned above, there's a lot of materials going to specifics.
