Wrong date in sealed K-1 Packet -- Will this cause AoS troubles?

Hi all, My fiancee entered on her K-1 visa on Saturday. On the visa itself, it says it’s valid until July 5, but in the sealed packet, it said until May 13 (which she had no way of knowing inside since she couldn't open it) and CBP told her she was 9 days late. The CBP official called his supervisor and they let her enter anyway but could this cause problems for us when applying for AoS?

As long as she entered before the expiration date on the visa, she is fine.  The visa is now voided since she entered.  You now have 90 days from the day she entered the US to marry.  I would also submit the I-485 and other forms within 90 days also.

 

Edit:  Upon further examination, there MIGHT be an issue.  See my next comment.

When was her medical exam done? November?  If so, the consulate incorrectly calculated the visa expiration date.

Her medical exam prior to the K-1 consulate interview was done in early January, then her interview took place 1 week later.

Then, she is fine.  The visa expiration date was correctly calculated by the consulate......6 months after medical exam.  I would not worry about this.  Just marry within 90 days.....and I would submit the adjustment of status package within 90 days also. Good luck.

This could raise questions during the AOS process, but since the CBP officer let her in she shouldn't be denied. The date in the sealed packet often relates to how long the medical exam or underlying petition is valid, not necessarily her admissibility window. I recommend during your AOS ASAP just to compensate for any potential delays.
