Hi everyone,

I received I-797 NOA2 noticed back in March indicating approval from USCIS. NVC have since received my package and I've even got an email(with K_FTP attachment) from them telling me they've forwarded to the USEmbassy in China Guangzhou.

As a next step in this process, I was expecting the embassy there to contact or send some notice in the mail to my fiancé so an interview can be scheduled. Not only has she not received any notification yet, checking our case number at https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx is now showing a 'refused' status.

This is an unexpected development. USCIS and NVC process went through without much trouble. Any idea why the embassy would 'refuse' our case without any notification or explanation? This is really concerning. What should our next step be?

Thanks

it could be marked as "refused" while they are processing it, and it could eventually update to ready.

you should contact the embassy using their visa navigator
