If you have done K3 at New Delhi Consulate, would you please tell me:

1) if you submitted your DS230 by hand, and if you could get interview date at that time, or you had to wait?

2) Also did you pick up packet 4 at the same time?

3) Lastly, when you submitted documents to VFS, what originals did you send and which did you keep? Passport original should be kept with you I would think, but I am wondering about tax documents too....did you include those, or take them to interview?

I read all the reviews and they are of some help, but I am sure there are plenty of others who have gone through this and did not write a review, and I would like to know these answers if they are willing to share.

Neel and OhioIndian,

You CAN drop off packet three at the embassy. My husband dropped his off (he also picked up his packet three as well after he missed the delivery of it). Once it was dropped off, they mailed his packet four to him. Because India is fraught with mail problems I've heard of people picking up their packet four too when it's not delivered to them. HOWEVER, you cannot pick up packet four until it is ready because it contains your interview date and those aren't scheduled until almost the middle of the month. I hope this helps. Good luck!

We are doing K-1, not K-3, and we never received Packet 3, so we made up our own and also submitted a Mumbai Packet 3 at the Delhi Embassy, and that worked.

We never recieved Packet 4, but we did show up and pick up the interview letter and packet 4.

I did put in the embassy reviews, so you can find the details there.

Best of luck!

Hi, sure, we can stay in touch. You can email me at dg144290@gmail.com I have read all the reviews and they are helpful, but we can not be certain that the same would be for us. I have read that some people have taken DS230 and dropped off, and then picked up packet 4, but others say they did not get packet four until after interview was scheduled. Also I do not know how efficient the Embassy is...meaning when DS230 is dropped off, do they then automatically assign interview date. Middle of the month is coming soon, and my wife's case should be at Embassy soon. So if she can drop off DS230, which she has already filled out and ready to submit, then she may be able to get on the interveiw list for September. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
