I attended the Oath Ceremony yesterday, September 25, 2025. The ceremony was very quick, lasted about an hour I think. There were 30 people in the ceremony.

The officer who was in charge of the ceremony was very comical and everyone was laughing and smiling throughout the ceremony.

My timeline:

March 26 - Submitted the application online

March 26 - Biometric Reuse notice

July 28 - Interview scheduled notice

September 5 - Interview

September 5 - Recommended to be approved & Place in line for Oath Ceremony

September 8 - Oath Ceremony scheduled notice

September 25 - Oath Ceremony

I am glad that everything went smooth & quick and I completed the process!!

Our dates are close, most of them.

July 29 - interview notice

September 9 - Interview

September 9 - Recommended to be approved & Place in line for Oath Ceremony

September 26 - Oath ceremony

I submitted my N400 application on April 12th.

By the way, I applied for a passport and selected expedited processing and 1-2 day delivery service, since I may travel shortly.

Any idea when I can expect the passport?

Depends on office. My spouse wasn't allowed in. The saddest part, there was a disconnect between USCIS employees, when one official said relatives were allowed, and other said not allowed. Some folks called their families and friends, who got to USCIS building and were denied entry

My oath notice clearly said 'no relatives'.

I saw several people come with a companion, but the companion was not allowed inside the oath ceremony hall. I saw one mother whose teenage daughter was in the back rows, not sure how she sneaked in. May she had some justification.

How long have you been waiting? This is truly agonizing. My journey was so much easier years ago, but now it feels like such a hassle.

Sorry you're still waiting, it must be stressful. What action would that be? Lawsuit?

I think a lawsuit will be the last resort. I’m not sure yet what exactly we’ll do. For now, she’s trying to get the supervisors to respond. My field office keeps ignoring us, so she went to the main office to ask why she’s being ignored, but the supervisor there is supposedly out until next week. I asked her to wait until the 120 days are up and then follow up again. If that doesn’t lead anywhere, we’ll decide what to do next.

@Taureti has been waiting for 3.5+ months by now. So month is not that bad. Hopefully you get decision soon. But again, reminding, after 120 days following the interview, you can sue USCIS for decision.

I hope you receive your decision soon. My account hasn't changed either; it still shows step 4.

MyProgress can be completely ignored, both estimates and steps.

Somebody reported today for their case status:

I wonder if we ask that user, they're going to be on some wrong step and still waiting for decision according to status. Even though they're US citizen now.

You may even see "Your case is taking longer than expected" one day. Doesn't mean USCIS will jump on your case and decide it because of that. They'll take however long they need. Or until sued

I see some movement today; my application has been updated. Status has not changed, but at least I know it's not lost among the other cases. Maybe someone dug it out after so many inquiries.
