K-3 TO AOS - SECOND MEDICAL ???

Hello friends,

Not been here for a while as I have been settling into life in the US after obtaining my K-3 Visa, just over a year ago.

I have my AOS (Permanent Residency/Green Card) Interview next week (8th Feb) and so far as I have been thinking, I do not have to have a medical examination as this was done in London prior to me getting the K-3 Visa.

However, I have just re-read the interview NOA and I am now not so sure, as this says to take a completed medical examination and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope, with a rider "unless already submitted".

I have a recollection that so long as the AOS Application (I-485) was submitted within a year of the K-3 Medical, then a further medical is not necessary.

Could anyone enlighten me? It's too late now for me to get another medical done before the interview in 6 days time.

Thanks....Neil.

Neil:

nice to hear from you after long time. We have been together on K3 forum last year and had a almost same time line.

I'm done with my AOS last week. My attorney told me to take I-693 in interview regardless we had submitt AOS paper work within one year. Thanks god, we took I-693because interviewer asked for it.

So, take I-693 in sealed cover from approved doctor

Thanks for that. I am glad that you have got your AOS out of the way :):)

However, I have found a USCIS web page that says if the AOS Application is submitted within one year of the Embassy medical, a further medical isn't necessary.

It does say though that a 'Vaccination Supplement' IS required. I have made an appointment to get that sorted on Monday....for ANOTHER $200 MINIMUM fee, they say ! This is quite ridiculous.....

Anyone else with K-3 AOS interview experience with anything to add?

Neil.
