Right now gas is about $2.71 up here in the mountains where we live. I remember when it was $2.00 a gallon and complaining...I'd gladly take that price per gallon now. :)

You're in Georgia? I remember gas was always dirt cheap in Georgia compared to the neighboring states.

I'm surprised it's more expensive there than down here in FL.

It is a welcome relief but I doubt it will last long. I notice the price of milk jumped dramatically after several months of high gas prices! :o I'm sure that many products across the board went up. What an interdependent economy we live in...I wish it weren't so much that way. :(

Yeah what's up with the milk prices?

Well, as long as they don't raise the beer...

Is it beer o'clock already? You must be on day light savings time.

All I know is that the news reports were claiming that high gas prices forced the milk prices to go up, but I haven't noticed such a dramatic increase in other drinks (water and soda, for example).

Down here Mayfield milk is $5.45 a gallon for whole milk. Some brands of sliced bread cost as much (or more) than a gallon of gas. What *IS* going on these days?

Reinhard, yes...I'm in Georgia. The gas prices have hovered around 2.71 to 2.79 lately.

Holy cow! :o Good thing our cars don't run on milk or we'd have to start pouring gasoline on our cereal.

What happened to Georgia? It used to be rather inexpensive there.

$5.45 for milk? We're still below $4.50. I do remember buying milk for less than $2.00 a gallon. Wasn't all that long ago.

Yup...me too. The store brand (Ingles) milk is $3.59 for whole, $3.29 for 2%. I don't know what's happened to Georgia.
