Hello everyone,

I read through the requirements for Japan Police Certificate and it has a few requirements which I can fulfill but I had a couple of questions if anyone has gone through it before..

1. Case number - do they need a NVC case number to process the PCC? I only have the receipt number from the I-130. Even the NOA2 I downloaded from myUSCIS only has IOExxx receipt number.

So must I wait for the NVC letter? I am worried this will cause a delay in the process.. Or can I proceed with the IOExxx receipt number?

2. Request letter - is the Tokyo embassy immigrant visa checklist sufficient for this or would I have to call the embassy and ask for a letter?

Thanks for your help!

My wife was able to obtain a Japanese Police Certificate with just the NOA2 letter. She received the Police Certificate in two business days.

Thank you. My pcc application was accepted on the basis of the noa2 letter as well. It took a week but the good thing is they tell you the exact date it will be ready. No guessing. Such a welcome relief in the midst of the rest of this process where waiting without information causes so much stress
