received letter today from Tennessee Elections Division that read as follows:

Our office has received information that appears that your voter information matches with an individual who may not have been a US citizen at the time of obtaining a TN dL or ID card/

ETC Etc

He wasn't a USC but was here legally with the IR1 visa.

they sent him a form to remove his name from voting registry

Don't these offices ever check with immigration?

Adil was legally here when getting his DL and SS #

He took his natuaralization certificate to elections board to register to vote in 2019 after taking the oath.

We followed all the rules so what the world is wrong with this whole system?

i thought all this was behind us.

this really XXXXXX me off.

Silliness. Don't sweat it.

My only concern would be if some rambunctious DMV employee registered him in error prior to naturalizing without him knowing. It has been known to happen.

For that reason, I'd probably go above and beyond and send something trackable saying he didn't register to vote till (date post-naturalization). Interested to hear what others suggest.
