Why are you trying to transfer? You are going to get rejected by most other countries. Warsaw is your best option. Just get a visa to Hungary and take the train from Budapest to Warsaw.

Yep, that's exactly what we are doing.  I didn't know about the no options to transfer until I went through all of them.

a) Are you going to America?

 

b) Is your significant other Russian?

 

c) How / where did you / she get the Schengen for Hungary?

 

d) Have you already gone to the interview in Warsaw?  And if so, how did it go?

Yes and she is Russian. You apply for a visa through an agency, they are in all big cities in Russia, it usually only takes 10-20 days to obtain this visa. Russian people travel a lot to Europe, she should know how to locate such an agency as they are everywhere. We just sent the documents to the consulate and they will get back to me soon to schedule an interview date. We want to go in July. They give you a calendar where you can book a date, usually starting about 2-4 weeks out from the current date. It is easy to get to Warsaw. We will just fly to Budapest and take the train. Thats all I have to say for now.

Got it.  Thanks.  Only question I have is - when you say apply through an agency, WHAT agency?  Her local travel agencies are zero help.  Something specific, I take it, for a Schengen to Hungary?  I believe there is and I think she called her nearest place to do this in Kazan.  They are saying "too busy now" and "will be able to do after May holidays".  Wondering if we just wait or contact St. Petersburg or other.  If St. Pete, for example, would she need to go there in person to apply and/or pick up visa?

That is very strange. My fiance is going to an agency in Yekaterinburg to obtain her visa. I do not know about SPB. I know she needs to go in person and apply, and then return to pick it up when it is ready. Hope that helps you.

It is strange that she does not have reliable travel agents in her city or area. In SPB or any large city there are reputable agents that will prepare the visa for her. Hope that helps.

guys.. they're not really agents.. you go to their site, it has a list of things you need, you bring the list of required documents, at the visa center she just helps file/send them, she doesn't help you like a person can help you here..

She is from a city / town MUCH smaller than St. Pete's or Moscow.  The help you can get from certain travel agents in her area isn't good, to say the least.  Yes, I think I'm aware of the documents that she will need.  She is going to do the Schengen in Moscow in May, during which time she will also go to the Embassy-approved doctor for the medical exam.  Before she goes, she is calling the place in Moscow for Hungary schengen visas to double-check what documents she needs to bring with her.  And this is only for the schengen.  For the Warsaw interview, it's a whole other list of things that must be brought to the interview.

does anyone know what happens after she/he comes to the us and gets their green card (estimated time of receiving the green card) how long does she need to stay in the US before we can leave/travel or any other details regarding the green card and life in the USA, thank you

Good question.  I wasn't aware of any time restrictions to travel once they are in the US - ARE there?  As for green card, I'd like to know as well.

If you're doing a spousal visa so they have a green card right away, no there aren't any travel restrictions other than ensuring you spend enough time in the US to maintain residency between entering the US and applying to remove conditions, renew a green card, and/or US citizenship.

 

If you're doing a K-1, you need advance parole or a green card before leaving the US if you want to return without starting all over with a new visa.
