It's always good when political debate gets dumbed down to name-calling. Why is that the MO for those on the Right? Take the blinders off, Gary, that kind of statement could be said about most politicians.

If you think Gore would make a good president then you need to take off the blinders. He is about the only one that would be worse than Clinton. Well, equally as bad. Well, equally as bad as Clinton and Oboma. I tell ya, the dem field is chock full of nuts this time. I can't wait for the head to head campaigning. It's going to be fun to watch. There will be more mud thrown than at a tractor pull!!!

Political jabs aside, Gary, can you actually argue why none of Democratic candidates would make a good president other than you don't agree with their political ideology? In other words, if all you got is a grocery list of each of their personality flaws, then you're reaching for straws, because no candidate from either party is free from personality defects.

For me it's all about the political ideals they stand for. I just love jabbing at you. Your just to easy. But really, not a one of them has any ideas that I agree with. Personalities aside, I think that any of them would make America a much worse place to live.

Well I hope that it really boils down to what they stand for and you're not just towing the line spoon fed to you by talk radio, because it is a lot easier to 'hate' a candidate on a personal level than to recognize that they might actually have qualities that make a good president.

Gore has the young vote & the green vote. Don't discount him. Oh and the 2004 election.

And the Rep field is full of winners, dontcha agree???

Hillary will not pick Obama, he's too young & he's black. She will take Edwards. Done deal.

Personalities aside, I think that any of them would make America a much worse place to live.

Have you been in a drunken stupor the last 7 years?

Nope, I like the domestic policies of the last 7 years. We have a great economy, full employment and very slow inflation. I also want to see lower taxes and less entitlements. We are starting to roll back some of those stupid liberal Supreme Court decisions and if we get a good conservative we will have much more of it. I want to see more of those policies enacted. And on the international front I think you already know where I stand there. I want this country to make a hard right. That is where my values are. I know what you will already say. Lets just say I think the left idea of America isn't America. But that's politics for you!

I agree with that in part. The job market is hot, equities are kicking serious a$$. That's the good news. The bad news in the last few years has been on the inflation front.

Yes, government-published statistics paint a rosy picture but that's because they exclude food and energy - and use rent instead of home purchase prices.

In other words, if you're a renter who doesn't eat and doesn't drive, government statistics make sense. But if you're like most people who like to eat three times a day and maybe even drive to work, they only paint part of the picture.

My eating habits are what they always have been, but my grocery bills are about 10% more than what they used to be last year. I budget so I know.

And I don't have to tell you that gas prices are higher than they were a few years ago. Thankfully, they seem to have stabilized in the last year or so at their current high levels.

The other huge negative of the Bush legacy is our high government spending. When is the last time we were in a war and we started a huge entitlements program (like Bush did) in the middle of a war? Never been done before. Bush has been irresponsible with our tax money and with our troops.

This is kind of a azz-backwards way of looking at it but it shows why Clinton will never win the national election.

(CNN) -- With the presidential election more than two years away, a CNN poll released Monday suggests that nearly half of Americans would "definitely not vote for" Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose name repeatedly tops lists of potential 2008 Democratic candidates.

Respondents were asked whether they would "definitely vote for," "consider voting for," or "definitely not vote for" three Democrats and three Republicans who might run for president in 2008.

Regarding potential Democratic candidates, 47 percent of respondents said they would "definitely not vote for" both Clinton, the junior senator from New York who is running for re-election this year, and Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, the party's candidate in 2004. (Poll)

Forty-eight percent said the same of former Vice President Al Gore, who has repeatedly denied he intends to run again for president. (Watch why the list of potential candidates is ridiculously long -- 2:25)

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/06/19/pol...tial/index.html

Now Clinton may be popular with the dem base but she would garner zero support among reps and very little among the independants. With 47% of America saying "NO WAY" to Clinton that means that she would have a very hard time winning. It's not her positives that will get her elected but her negitives that will defeat her.

That is some of the things that Bush and I part company on. The drug bill was a stupid idea. The immigration bill was a disastar. But Bush isn't running again. I want a serious conservative to run. Someone like Reagan. I know that none of the current contenders are not Reagan but I want as close as we can get. Bush wasn't conservitive enough for me but I liked most of what he did.

First of all "hope" is a false positive, relying on "hope" is like dreaming of winning the lottery! , Hillary loves to tell you what you want to hear! She is the ultimate rump ranger "no a$$ can go un kissed"

devilette,

You are going to be very disappointed with President Hillary when she doesn't irresponsibly withdraw from Iraq the day after her inauguration.

At least she wants to withdraw. GWB doesn't.

She won't withdraw if it weakens America or if it weakens Iraq. Practically speaking, they amount to the same thing.
