Olga and I just had our cat "fixed" (I also realized that this was a strange way to refer to it, especially with Olga learning English) today, there was no weight chart for cats from the clinic I took her to only $29 for male cats and $49 for female cats (+$5 in heat).

I was sad that she would be in pain for the next few days but I also know in time it is best, no more locking her out of the room because of her "yelling" and no more telling her to get away when she is "presenting" (sticking her hiney in the air and cocking (pun NOT intended =O) her tail to the side...

she has already found her favorite place to sit, on my lap but when I am in the chain, unfortunately she cannot sit there...instructions say avoid high places and I am assuming the chair is high enough =(

now she is asleep in her pet carrier which has a nice soft bed for her! :)

She will recover very soon. Actually, the chair is ok - it isn't considered a 'high place'. A high place would be on top of a counter or the fridge or a bookshelf or something like that:-). The bed is fine too. Keep an eye on her that she doesn't fuss with her stitches. I know I tried to keep my 2 quiet - the one who had no problems rested for a day or two then was back to normal. My other one had a serious reaction to the anaesthesia (she can't ever have it again) and they had to re-open her up to stop the internal bleeding of the liver caused by an allergic reaction to the anaesthetic so she took a lot longer to heal. Your cat should be perfectly fine and back to normal very soon.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
