I got a business visa online so I could stay with Elina for more than a month, I have never registered a business visa, can any one help out with the info?, I will be traveling to different cities, but I know there are all the new visa registration rules, can i simply go to the post in her home town where she owns a flat and get the visa registered for a fee? or, because its a "business" visa do I have to go to the office of the company that is listed on the "invitation"?

I used a business visa last year (prior to the visa reg. change) and needed a letter from the company that invited me in order to register. The city I was in has many high tech areas (aerospace industry) & still sort of a closed city I guess so maybe more scrutiny on my registration? I really don't know.

Anyway, now that the registration process has changed, it's not you that needs to register but your host/hotel that is now responsible for the registration. So your girl will need to take your passport & migration card to the local police or post office and register you using her internal passport. Looks like some good info here.

I also put a link to the new forms on my RU Page.

Cheers!

Go to the office or the affiliate of the inviting company that made the business visa for you. They should do the registering for you. You will also want to have your lady make your living registration for you where ever she has hers at.

That's the way it used to be. But I'm not sure it is still that way, given the changes in visa registration regulations. Kazan' Tiger, how current is your information?

I have been over there 11 times (mostly work related) in the past year, registered my business visa in Izhevsk, Sochi, Orel, Moscow, Rostov, and Blagoveschensk (Far East Russia). Seems every office wants something different but do not sweat it; it just takes time but is not a problem. I never needed any documentation other than my passport, my registration card from passport control, my visa and my face on a couple passport sized photos.
