Hi All,

I have filed for I130 and I129 and waiting for NOA2 for my wife. Question I have she just got new passport in her country and My LAST name was not listed in her passport (as a husband) only my first and middle name was listed. You guys think it might be a problem?. What should I do..should I tell her to correct this. By doing that she has to get new passport which is so much hassle. I just want my whole process to go smoothly....Please advise....

Thanks

May or may not be a problem, but since you are so early in this process, (You are at NOA1), I would get it corrected to be safe.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

May I ask why your name has to be listed in her passport? Curious only. Is your question about changing her name to yours?

In Pakistani passport, there is a field that requires to put husband's name (if single, put father's name). Passport field are different from country to country.

Hello,

AOA, It is a good idea to change the name because you never know. If you still have time change it out.

WAS Asif,

I hope everything going smooth in ur end. I have spoken to my lawyer about this issue. He said as long as my wife(beneficiary) has correct name. I know its a good idea to change but.. Its hell changing PP in karachi. I m praying that Consulate wont create an issue out of this.. Asif you and me are almost on same tract I just paid AOS fees..Keep me updated and I will do the same thing....
