Importing Jeep (split)

Hello Mozillaman,

many thanks for the explanation of the process.

I am moving from Europe and sending my Jeep to the states.

One of the documents needed is an EPA Form 3520-1, where it says that I need a "letter attached to this form from the manufacturer’s U.S. representative on letterhead (not a dealer or mechanic) stating
that the vehicle is identical to a U.S. EPA certified version with respect to emissions. The importer attests that vehicle is being imported for purposes other
than resale or lease."

So my question is whether this is a separate/additional letter to the "Compliance Letter" from the FCA Customer Assistance Center? and where would I get one?

Many Thanks

Simon

Yep, that's the same letter. You print out the EPA Form 3520-1 yourself (in my case they didn't even want it at the crossing, but still good to have on hand) and pair that with the letter from FCA.

Good luck and safe journeys!
