My husband's visa has been stuck in AP for over five months now. We have been banging every door possible, the embassy, the DOS, Laura Bush...u name it and we have banged it, but still no luck. We were told at the time of his interview that he'll get the visa within a week and here we are after five months now, still waiting for the visa...out of frustration and desperation we have started a blog and would like people to read it and share their own stories and or comments...

Here's the link for our blog:

Thanks,

Kiny

Consider your self blessed. I have been in AP at USCIC waiting for them to approve our K3 but they say that we are stuck in AP so that will not happen untill they are done with their security checks. ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR AND WE ARE STILL WAITING.

You shoul feel happy enough to know that you are at least that far. We have not even gotten the NOA2 and then we have to pray to make it to NVC, the interview and so on. We have also knocked on every ones door but there is nothing any one can do other than just wait. Sorry, that you are stuck in this situation. I hope that your AP is over soon so that you can be with your SO like you have dreamed of.

I can tell you for sure that your husband's nationality and being a CR-1 is the reason he is still stuck in AP. In our case we were stuck 5 months from the time of the interview and we had a field investigation as well. All you can do is wait it out. I know too that I contacted everyone when we got AP since it was not discussed out in the open and was unable to get any help. Reading, researching and then posting my experience a few others came forward and explained their stories as well. Islamabad is finally issuing visas again after none for about 6 months for males so maybe your husband will be issued his visa soon. They are so many name checks, background checks, and they do education, job and character checks as well and the only shining light in this is that he will be able to work and travel once he is home with you. May you be granted patience and understanding on this last leg of your wait and may it be over soon.

Mary
