I am based in London.

It is NIW; no job offer is needed, but I will work as scientist in healthcare AI

Well you are not being sponsored by an Employer, you posted in the NIW thread, I was wondering about the job, do you have a job lined up a start date etc.

No, as I still have 6 months in my PhD, and will move permanently to US after graduation. Nonetheless, I had some communications with academics from US who asked me to apply for training grants int their institutions and confirmed that they would like me to work there. I was well prepared to answer job-related questions, but as said, my interview was too brief.

My field is in healthcare AI with dual MD/PhD degree. I don’t think this qualifies for TAL; no visits to high risk countries, and I am Egyptian, so not red flags here (so far).

Egypt is one of the countries that is possibly about to be restricted under the new country ban and would be considered a high risk country. AI isn't explicitly on the TAL list but only because it's not been updated in years, so I suspect it's a combination of both those things.

Nothing to do but wait it out unfortunately, good luck.

I am wondering what the Lawyer said, I remeber seeing a similar case but this was Cairo.

The visa on it's own isn't, but the endorsed visa acts as a temp green card for a year once you've entered on it (just had to clarify for anybody reading, didn't want them thinking they have a year to enter on the visa!).

When did you enter? Or pay the green card fee if that was later?

Should I at least expect an automated message confirming that my documents were received? It has been five working days since I sent them via email, with no response.

Were you asked to send them via email?

Yes, and the green slip had the email address that I used

OK, just checking as often they want them mailed, but as it's not an original doc I guess that's why. You won't get anything to confirm they've received it, so it's just a case of waiting until they get a chance to look at it and do any background checks needed.

Best of luck.
