IMO, definitely not needed for the visa part of the process unless you have complicated circumstances. Just follow the step by step guide very carefully and you should be fine.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-1-submit-a-petition/step-2-begin-nvc-processing.html

Be prepared to be put in to AP if you're from Nigeria. And please do fill your timeline in when you've got a few minutes spare, thanks.

Best of luck.

Is this AP for nigerians in the UK? How long is it for do you know please. Please has anyone recieved IL this month at all?

Inevitably dealing with Third Country Nationals will raise more challenges.

Hi all,

Does anyone have any indication of how long the London Embassy is currently taking to process interview dates?

My EB1 application was DQ'd on the 23rd April, judging by everything ive seen on here thus far suggests we could see an IL this month for an interview in July? How realistic is that?

The NVC has recently updated its tool to include employment-based categories, allowing you to see which DQ dates are currently being scheduled for interviews at consulates.

Ah i didnt know this existed, thank you for sharing!

Its currently showing London is scheduling DQ dates in Feb 25 as of the 2nd May, if my math checks out, we wont necessarily see an IL until July if my DQ date is April?

What timeframes are people typically seeing for dates on an IL for London?

Hello, Just want to confirm your appointment time at the medical center.

I got 11:10 for family of 3, and I have fears about getting to the embassy for the document check before 1pm.

Medicals and Document check update

We were among the last set of people that came for the Medical check, but everything done at the Medical center was quite fast. We finished the medicals and ready to leave by 1pm, we were are little worried but the staff assured us that the embassy is aware we are here today.

We got to the embassy by 1:45pm due to traffic, and the security check and all the due process were fast and no one challenged us of coming after 1pm.

We have issues with one of our document and we called the embassy prior to that day, and we were told all questions will be answered when we come for document check.

So all our documents were checked and we were told all our document are up to date and ready for interview day. Then we called her attention to our child's passport that will expire in November (which means it will be valid for 5months by June;our interview month). We told her we booked for passport renewal in February,  but the earliest we got was July 2nd.

She called her boss and explained our situation to him and he said it can be stamped with a visa but we have to travel as soon as possible and getting a new passport after stamping the old may cause complications (we also have the option to reschedule for our child but we cannot change the date until after interview date has passed and we are not sure of getting a very close date).

Does anyone know of a similar situation? I have fears about port of entry drama (traveling with less than 6months valid passport)

Sorry for the long story and please ignore any typo error.  Thank you 😊
