Every time I go to my timeline, I get irked afresh by the titles:

Petitioners name

and (worse)

Beneficiaries name

Of course this should be Petitioner's and Beneficiary's, respectively... sorry, I doubt it's going to change, and in the scheme of things it is less than important, but I had to vent!

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

And I'm with you on the word usage too... it's not for nothing that I've formed a 'Language Elitist Club' on another forum I'm on (and yes; it, like the name, are VERY much tongue in cheek ;) )

I'm with both of you on that. Yes, I'm an English teacher too and get really irritated by those little things :-)

It's impossible for me to have a favourite, but

'Unless I'm wrong - and I'm never wrong - ' is a classic :lol:

Had to choose the 'pain' one for here though; what better describes our various writhings and agonies when caught in the maw of the USCIS?! ;)

11th Aug 2008 - Mailed I-751 to CSC.

12th Aug 2008 - Application received

14th Aug 2008 - Cheque cashed

18th Aug 2008 - Received NOA-dated the 12th

26th Aug 2008 - Received Biometrics letter

4th Sept 2008 - Biometrics-Detroit-Complete-'Touched'

5th Sept 2008 - 'Touched'

1st Dec 2008 - APPROVED-Card production ordered -112 days

8th Dec 2008 - USCIS mailed approval notice.

8th Dec 2008 - Received my 10 year Greencard in the mail. took 2 days.

Although I have the above date for approval my card actualy states the

2nd December..

Going great Kath! We plan on having a Native American theme in part of our house, since that is my heritage (Cherokee). Joel gave me the most awesome painting for Christmas from one of my favourite artists:

He gave me the painting "Founding Fathers". It's incredible and this artist is one of the most talented (IMHO) when it comes to Native American art.

I've read the book! it's fab, and well worth it :D

it's funny; even though they talk about the book in the film I always thought it didn't exist... thankfully was disabused of that notion some time back ;)

apostrophes used in the wrong place annoy the hell out of me too, LisaD... there's a slight irony that here, I'm protesting about fake plurals ;)

Yep, the book is awesome! Loved it. :)

Apostrophes...GAH! If only one could understand how the improper word usage or punctuation usage changes the meaning of a word and can very well cause one to be misunderstood. Oi Vey!
