Hi,

I’m Chinese teacher here on j1 visiting scholar teaching mandarin.  My program ends at the end of June.  I will likely get a job offer from the public school system in the next month to continue teaching next semester.

I believe one of the requirements for NOS for china is to show proof of completion of program.  So I cannot start the actual waiver process until my program is finished?  The ds2019 also only gives me a month to stay in country once my program ends.

I would like to start the waiver process as soon as possible, but I don’t know if I can.

also once I start the waiver process does that extend my time I can stay in US.

What is your employer going to sponsor you for?
