Hello,

My mom received a B1/B2 visa to the US last year feb 2022- feb 2023, however she will not be able to travel till April 2023. Can she get another visa with the previous DS-160 or Another Visa fee will need to paid?

Is there a sort of extension? or a new visa application has to be done.

Thank you

Most likely a new visa application. Hopefully if her situation hasn’t changed she will be issued the visa again.

If the visa it’s expired she has to get a new one (it doesn’t matter she didn’t travel, the visa is not longer valid) she needs to get pretty much the entire process done again (usually when it’s a visa renewal it’s easier, cause you only have to get the picture taken, as long as I know you don’t need a new interview) and yes,  she needs a new DS 160 (have the expired visa on hand cause they will asked if you have had one and need to put the visa number), she has to pay again and make the appointment to get the picture taken. Good luck getting an appointment soon!
