My wife is waiting for her IR-1 visa interview date from the Embassy, still at NVC but documentarly qualified, and pending Embassy interview date. 

 

Her passport is expiring on April 9, 2023. 
 

Can she apply to renew her passport now before the interview? Are there any additional steps that we need to make after passport renewal? Should we expect further Interview delays?

She can go ahead and renew the passport now.  Nothing else to do except present the latest passport at the interview.
