IR-5 police certificate mistake

Hello, I m US citizen. I applied for my parents i130 is already approved. Now i need to upload civil documents. My parents are resident of Saudi Arabia since 35 years. We received police certificate from Saudi but the month of birth is wrong. Its January on passport but on  Police certificate its July.When we asked them to change it, they asked to bring passports from 1970s. We dont have those passports. What should we do? Should we attach any letter to inform NVC about this problem or should we submit it like this? Please help me

Tell them you don't have the old passports. Ask if a birth certificate and current passport .. assuming the birthdates match.. will work as evidence of the error. Ask them how else you can provide acceptable documentation. It needs to be corrected.?    NVC wont accept your letter or explanation nor a document with the incorrect date of birth
