It depends on what company she mailed it with. The Philippines Post Office has their own type of express mail that took longer than four days to get to me from Manila. The best way to go is FEDEX, which, although expensive, is reliable and provides tracking information.

Hang in there.

If you go with FedEx, they will guarantee a delivery time frame, giving you a track number. They should be able to tell you from where it's being sent off - express deliveries are going to depend on many factors - where she's sending it from for one. 4 days sounds good (keep in mind the 12+ time difference).

monday july 16th? post office could be much slower but not that slow when it came from phil-us (compared to us-phil), expect it next week friday the most especially coming from the province... my mom sent me regular mail sometimes from phil post, and it gets here around 2 weeks or so... ive noticed even if i upgrade to priority before, the timeframe usually just the same. 7-14 days

If you have something extremely important to send, send it via UPS, FEDEX or DHL. It will cost you much more than by post but you will get it when it needs to be there.

If you send by post, once it leaves one countries borders, it is out of their hands. You pretty much can't track it and you are at the mercy of that particular countries postal system.

Thai postal is pretty hit or miss too. Never had a problem sending or receiving packages to/from her, but greeting cards seem to be another story. She is still waiting on two cards I sent to her in late April. She'll get them after she gets her and her mom and dad will have to send them over here.

No kidding........I learned years ago that if I send anything to or from Asia, use DHL, UPS or FedEx.

After living and working in the Philippines, I know first hand how crazy it is. If I mailed anything from Calamba City to Baguio, I would use DHL, even if it was just one piece of paper.

Anything sent by EMS will have a tracking number. Each country may or may not actually a site or service to be able to track a package on and if sent from outside the US, it may actually be delivered in the US by DHL (Use the EMS number to track by reference on DHL.com).

http://www.ems.coop/site/Main.php?Oid=273 A list of all the countries part of the EMS system and links to local sites.

My gal just sent me about 25 pages last month. They fit nicely in a FedEx Express Letter pack. Cost was 1200 pesos (about $25USD) - Pampanga to San Diego. 4 days to receive.

Warm Regards,

Samby
