I am currently off on disability. So my income has dropped substantially in the past year, it will return in a year. I have already filed my K-1 application. Will the embassy consider household income, rather than individual income? I know my brother, (whom I live with), will gladly provide the documents and provide an affidavit of support to accompany mine..... any input?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Yes as long as your brother's income is above poverty line by 125%, You and he will provide I-134 affidavits, and supporting financial evidence.

Sure your brother can be a sponsor, if your income is insufficient. Discuss with him the obligation he would undertake in this situation and let him make the decision.

You need to check the poverty guidelines on the USCIS web site. The current guidelines are scheduled to expire October 30th, 2007. Remember that he needs to meet the guideline that includes him and his family (if any) and you and your fiancee.
