i864 minimal evidence required

Just wanted to get a feel for minimal acceptable evidence people have successfully used to get past the i864ez requirement.  I've seen a lot of mixed answers out there, but for a simple/straightforward case (I think), I was planning to only send IRS return transcripts and W2's for the past 3 years, however, I'm wondering if the transcripts alone are enough.  I don't want to send more information than is needed.  Have any of you only sent 3 years of IRS return transcripts as evidence, and avoided RFE's?

As the USC sponsor for my spouse, I have over the past 3 years:

  1. filed US taxes every year as married separately.
  2. maintained my US job while "temporarily abroad" in Canada, so I have W2's for every year of my working life.  Employer still uses my lifelong US address, which shows on each W2.
  3. intend to list just my income as the support, no joint sponsors, or even relying on my spouse's income.
  4. never had any gaps in income.
  5. well above the income minimums.
  6. This is only sponsorship for my spouse - no other family.

I'm not sure if there is any difference here being that this is going through the NVC vs. people adjusting status while in the US.

Thanks!

  1. the support affidavit asks last 3 years of income but you only need to send the most recent tax returns
  2. years ago (2009)  they made us send returns for last 3 years but now it is actually streamlined a lot
  3. the petition and NVC require a lot less paperwork than before

So in your experience, all you had to send were 3 years of returns?  No RFE?
