Email from NVC but nothing on ceac

Yesterday I received an email from nvc "The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC)" but when I log in to ceac there is no message and my documents still say submitted. Is this normal? People are getting updates within an hour of receiving this email but still nothing for me

Just keep checking

it could take a couple of weeks for the message to be posted

i don't know of anyone who got a posting change within an hour 

 

and please do a timeline and ID the country and visa type/  its helpful

Our CEAC info changed prior to receiving the email notification, and on another occassion the alert and update was simultaneous.
