Hi,

So I am the petitioner of the K1 Visa, Fiancé is in the Philippines. NVC sent me and email saying:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiancé (e)’s/spouse’s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will now forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Manila, Philippines. Please note that the transfer process can take several weeks. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate will contact your fiancé (e)/spouse when they are ready to process his or her petition.

Next steps:
Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.

I checked, CEAC said status ready. May 20,2022. As of today, My Fiancé has not receive any “welcome letter” so far from the NVC

So here is my question:

Should I tell him to just follow what the link says, and just file the DS160, pay the visa interview fees, w the interview and grab all the necessary requirements; Or should we just wait until my fiancé receives a mail from NVC or US embassy?

How long should we wait until we actually file the DS 160 because I do not want my i-129F petition to expire.

Thank you for those who took time to read and answer. God bless everyone.

For K1 Manila, no need to wait for any welcome letter.  Your fiance might be waiting for nothing.  Once CEAC status shows "Ready", submit DS-160, pay MRV fee, book visa interview, book SLEC medical.  Prepare all civil documents required for the interview.  Check the thread below for details on the next steps after a K1 case moves to the US embassy in Manila --
