Please help Chinese! Chinese birth certificate name issue

Okay so my spouse's medical birth certificate doesn't state his name. In the name section it says (mother's name)'s son. I guess that is how its done when you don't give them a name right away. What do we do? Has anyone had any experience with this?

What does the hukou say?

 

Get a notarial birth certificate from that.

 

If he has a Chinese ID with his name on it, this should not be a problem.

 

Last I heard was that the Consulate was still requiring the notarial certificate, even when the medical birth certificate is available.
