It isn’t massively incorrect. As an example if my name was Joe Fred Bloggs. My email for my interview is for a Mr Joe Fred Fred Bloggs.

I’m wondering if the security will be real sticklers as it technically isn’t what my passport says.

Anyone had a similar experience or advice of how I should proceed.

Your visa is going to match your passport name. It doesn’t matter what they called you in the NVC email.

I had more meant the actual security to enter the embassy. Would they not have a list of names for appointments and only allow people on the list in?

They have a list of the appointments for the day but it isn’t necessarily messed up like your email was. I don’t think they will be that fussy about letting you in. If they had serious questions, they would call up somebody inside to sort it out. It’s very easy going at the embassy in London.
Tip if there’s a line: Find the shorter line for Immigrant visas. If they are doing non-immigrant visas again, that will be a longer line you don’t want to wait in.
