Do you guys know how long does it take after the National Visa Center accepted the documents to to actually get the the interview date at the US embassy?  they sent us an email telling "NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in SAN SALVADOR, ELSL to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you"

is for a FB2B Unmarried Sons and Daughters (21 years of age or older) of Permanent Residents

Can you talk to me of the process too?

thank you so much.

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You find some time estimates in the ES portal.  Good luck.

I dont know about kids but my husband's case was one month after we received the email saying he was approved. I would recommend you create an portal on the ustraveldoc website and try to get your UID so you can make an appointment for medical cause is taking a 2 months after the interview for your medical and take forever. For example my husband interview was on October 15 and his medical was November 18 so we waited for the Dr to send his results that's one day after and then he sent his passport after that it tool one month to get his visa approved or I would say a little less than a month. But if you make your medical appointment for your kids then when is time for their interview the counselor will take their passport in there and then you will just have to wait on their desicion. But if not you will go after your interview to your medical and they scheduling for medical until February next year already
