Hello

I have won the lottery 2022 and my case number has just currented for October . But I had a misspelling mistake on my first name(dropped the last character of my name which is not pronounced). Now I don't know what should I do? . May I become refused just because of that?

Will I have a chance to correct it at the embassy?

All of my documents are correct but that mistake is on my 2 lottory forms.( First form of lottery registering and ds260)

If KCC has sent you the confirmation that your documents are processed /ready for scheduling they will not unlock the DS. Other than that, it is up to you if you want to go through the hassle of unlocking or just do the correction at the interview. I don’t know if you will be denied or not, the instructions are to list names exactly as per passport and something like this (spelling error, birthdate error) is sometimes done when people try to get around the one entry per person limit. It will depend on your interviewing officer and, possibly, the country you are from.

Thanks for response.

if I just report the error to KCC by email before they assign my interview date instead of unlock requesting , would it be helpful?

On the other hand I'm from Iran which has many politics issues...

My name is written in both figures at all...

I want to know does the officer able to unlock the form on that day?

KCC won’t do anything with that report other than put a copy of the email in your file.
Yes, the form can be unlocked and updated by the CO during your interview.

It’s not political issues that could be the problem, it’s fraud issues. I don’t think Iran is considered a high fraud conuntru so hopefully that will help.
