DACA and having a Misdemeanor

I’ve had DACA for the past 8 years. My Latest DACA permit expired in 2020 and I worked until my job said I could , which was right up until my permit expired. Unfortunately I didn’t apply for a renewal within the timeframe required and lost my job. Thankfully I was able to put in my two weeks notice. Sincerely the best job I’ve had. I enjoyed working there genuinely. Unfortunately I’m at a standstill with this as well because at the same time I got a DUI for driving under the influence. Even if I wanted to apply to renew my permit , it states in the requirement for that a dui is a “significant” misdemeanor. I got a dui lawyer, however he promised to do the best he could but only did the bare minimum and I got Two years deferred guilty sentence. He was one of the worst lawyers I’ve been to. Wasted the last few paychecks I had on him, to no avail. He said he would fight so I could Renew my permit but he wouldn’t  even show up to my court dates Well long story short .. I’ve heard from people in my situation or worse that have gotten an approval after being convicted.. and I probably will get another lawyer. When I have sold most of my things.. only if I know for sure that he / she will fight for me so I can get it renewed and get back on my feet. Has anyone on here gotten a renewal approved  after having a misdemeanor. ? I’m desperate at this point.

Yes, I know someone who is so close to me that applied for DACA renewal after the misdemeanor (DUI) and got approved. Trust me, you’ll be fine. Try to renew your DACA again and please learn your lesson as well.

PS: She got a very good Public Lawyer. From DUI she was only sentenced Wet Reckless. Good luck! 🤗
