Any O-1 Fillers from the Past 2 Months Around?

Hey guys! My sponsor filled my I-129 at Vermont May 17, this is for my O-1 renewal (this is gonna be the third yearly renewal in a row).

The status still on Case Was Received. Their processing timeline for O petitions is 1-3 months, last year it was the same and it was approved in less than a month (probably due to COVID).

Anybody else experiencing delays in I-129 processing? I consider asking my sponsor to upgrade to premium but he doesn’t know yet that they up the price to $2,500 so I’m not sure if he’s gonna be down for it.

Thoughts and stories are very welcomed.

Or should I ask any I-129 Fillers in Vermont recently? Even though it's my 3rd yearly extension the suspense is KILLING ME. Any info would be appreciate shall you have anything to share.

Hello, 

I filed my O-1B at Vermont center in March and received an RFE at the end of the March. Then we submitted the response at the beginning of July and the online system showed "case was approved" today!

Oh I forgot to ask - May I know if your case was change/extension of status in the US or a new petition from outside the US?

 

I got a feeling that petition for extension/change of status from inside the US takes longer than the ones filled from beneficiaries that are outside the US.

I applied for it while remaining in the US for the entire process and my previous F-1 expired in March. My attorney told me that I was allowed to stay in the country while it's pending but I can't work until I receive an approval. So I think she applied for change of status from F-1 to O-1.  

(I did not specifically ask my attorney what she did....)

How could she have submitted anything without your signature.....?

On Form I-129 there's no need for the beneficiary signature. So it makes sense he didn't sign anything other than his employment agreement(s).

 

If it's from F-1 to O-1 from within the US that is a change of status.
