Applying for my citizenship - will travel outside of US for more than 6 months (not continuously) - will this be a problem?

Hello,

I've had a green card for over 10 years and finally plan on getting my citizenship.

Over the past 2 years, I have traveled outside of US - for 4-5 months in 2020 (not continuously) and in 2021 I was in Mexico for 5 and a half months.

I am now back in the US but I am wondering if I can go out of the country again this year and still meet my Continuous Residence and Physical Presence Requirements if I happen to leave US for another couple of months?

So in short, in 2021 while I apply for my citizenship, I may be out of the country for more than 6 months but not continuously. Will this be a problem?

They definitely will want you to prove that you really live and maintain your life in the US, basically they want you to show them that you live in the country for more than 6 months and one day no matter in what order

I have a business setup in US, my residence address hasn't changed in years, I pay my taxes and my family is here. It's just that during pandemic I decide to travel a bit and work remotely.

From what I saw is that your continued residence is definitely in question if you stay outside of the country for more than 6 months or for over 50% of the time during the 5 year period.

Business/taxes/immediate family/real estate in the United States are the best proofs of residency in the US
